The average layperson readily admits that he or she is no expert when it comes to printing. What many don't realize, is that not every commercial printer knows enough about the trade either. At Kelly Press, we not only understand all the intricacies of printing, we know how to communicate with you to achieve the product you need, when you need it.

What follows will give you a good idea of what we have done to ensure success in any project you may have.

File Types

One of the frustrations in trying to get the job done is the "software roadblock" that so many printers and service bureaus put up for you. We work with a variety of software packages, including:

Pre Flight

We check your files and resolve all font and image issues before we ever pull your file in for output. We resolve all issues with your work long before we output film to proofs. This insures that your job gets done right, and on budget and on schedule.

Pre-Press

Our Electronic Pre-Press operation has grown significantly in both volume and capability. Desktop Publishing changes daily with new technology and software releases. We continually research these new developments in an effort to more efficiently serve our clients' needs.

Our Pre-Press staff is experienced with even the most difficult trapping and imposition issues. Our digital proofing system provides correct color on the same ripped file that is output to plates through our platesetters. Our digital proofing is unmatched in the area. We produce laminated Fuji proofs, Final Hard Dot Color Proofs and (DBL) Digital Blue Lines, and plating capabilities in house for all the presses.

Presses

Our sheetfed presses allow us a diverse configuration to get the toughest of projects printed in the fastest possible time. We have a Heidelberg Speedmaster 6 color perfector with an in-line aqueous coating unit, a Heidelberg Speedmaster 4 color perfector. We also have a Heidelberg printmaster and a Heidelberg Quickmaster DI and a Jet envelope press. Along with that we have 1 web press, Didde VIP (ultraviolet Dryer with sheet or forms printer). Coupled with our Full-Web capabilities we have at Editor's Press, we are fully equipped to handle almost any magazine, catalog or commercial job that you require. There is also a business forms division for any of your continuous multipart forms needs. Finishing

We offer a complete bindery facility to make your job run as easily and cost effectively as possible. We have Baum folders, Stahl folders, Baum cutters, and Harris Magnetronic cutters, three-knife trimmers, McCain 2000 saddle stitchers, Rossback Auto stitchers, and Single station hand stitchers. Coupled with the large amount of finishing equipment that we have at Editor's Press, along with full mailing capabilities, we can handle even the most demanding finishing needs in-house.

Print on Demand

We have an extensive Xerox Docutech publishing department, capable of serving your print-on-demand needs. We have Docutechs, Digimasters and a 22" Xerox iGens for Digital Color and Variable Data Reproduction.

With our state-of-the-art Q-Store, our print-on-demand is as easy as a few mouse clicks from your desktop. You can browse your documents that already exist on the server right on the web, and place an order anytime!
